Artist Biography - Suren Nerisyan
Suren Nersisyan is a Fine Art painter who specializes in painting nature, from plein air landscape painting to animals and birds, using primarily watercolor and oils. He has exhibited widely in France, Armenia, The United States and Russia, has illustrated several Armenian language children's books, and his works have appeared on American televison shows made by Warner Brothers.He is currently represented by U-Gallery based in San Francisco, and cooperating with many other small art galleries based in France, The Netherlands and the USA. Born in 1978 in Yerevan, Armenia, Suren trained at the Fine Arts Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), receiving an MFA in 1999and a PhD in Art Teaching Methods in 2002. He taught art at ASPU for ten years, before moving to the U.S. in 2012. Suren is an Impressionist painter, using quick A La Prima strokes to express his own view and colours of nature. Suren's artistic work is influenced equally by both Western and Eastern artists and ideologies. His paintings feature the poetic grace of Eastern cultures blended with the colours and motifs of the Western world.
